Santo Domingo is currently experiencing a boom in shopping mall development. In recent years, new malls have been built to cater to the city’s growing middle and upper classes. Here are just a few of the Santo Domingo shopping malls that may be of interest to tourists:

Ágora Mall

One of several Santo Domingo shopping malls that opened in 2012, Ágora is billed as the country’s first eco-friendly mall. Catering to middle and upper-middle class clients, it features 180 shops including many internationally famous chains like Guess, Brooksfield, Pull and Bear, Mango, Zara, Cortefiel, Levi’s, Adidas, Desigual, Tommy Hilfiger, Timberland and more. Ágora Mall also has 26 restaurants and eateries, a seven-screen cinema and an indoor amusement park called ScreamLand.

Acrópolis Center

Acropolis, Santo Domingo shopping malls
This 4-level mall features numerous international chains, such as Tommy Hilfiger, Kenneth Cole, Springfield, Zara, Mango, Nautica and Nine West. The Acrópolis Center has several cafes and restaurants, including a TGI Friday’s, and a food court. It also has a seven-screen movie theater.

Sambil

Sambil, Santo Domingo
Sambil is another of the Santo Domingo shopping malls that opened in 2012. The shops include Clark’s shoes, Victoria’s Secret, Reebok and Punto Blanco. The shopping mall also has several electronics stores, including Sony and Samsung. In addition, the shopping center has an aquarium that is interesting for both young and old and a 14-screen movie theater.

Galeria 360

This new Santo Domingo shopping mall opened in 2012. It features 120 shops, restaurants, a food court and a 10-screen movie theater. The stores at Galeria 360 include: Women’s Secret, Duetto, Punto Blanco, Ego, Casaideas, Adolfo Dominguez and GNC. There is also a Gold’s Gym. The mall also has a La Sirena (similar to Target) and a Ferretería Americana, which sells products for the home.

Blue Mall

This high-end shopping mall caters to Santo Domingo’s well-heeled residents. Stores include Louis Vuitton, Faconnable, BCBGMAXAZRIA, Adolfo Dominguez, Armani Exchange, Carolina Herrera, Desigual, Geox and more. Blue mall also has cafes, a food court and a six-screen movie theater.

Megacentro

Catering to the Dominican middle-class, this shopping mall has 150 stores, four restaurants, a large food court and a ten-screen movie theater. The stores in Megacentro are mostly national chains and boutiques.
