“A dream realized by Italian fashion designer, Piergiorgio, this white clapboard inn has a wrap-around verandah adorned with ornamental gingerbread, characteristic of Sosua’s glory days in the Victorian era. The front entrance replicates a gazebo and faces a dramatic marble staircase that ascends to the third-floor, Italianate penthouses with expansive sundecks. Romantics take to the pink and white floral guest rooms, half of which have ocean view, (the rest overlook the kidney-shaped pool). The bathrooms with their Italian appliances, (bidets, too) add style. With its own brand of Italian hospitality and friendly Dominican staffers, the inn has a magnetic charisma and guests have trouble leaving, which is why three new apartments have been configured for extended stays.
When in Sosua enjoy the flavors of Italy with authentic Italian food at either of our restaurants. Tease your taste buds and smell the aroma. BUT we don’t stop there, we offer an international menu which satisfies our diverse culture here in Sosua, Dominican Republic!
La Puntilla of Piergiorgio
In 1989, Piergiorgio’s dream were of age. Hard work, Mother Nature’s blessing and tenacity are accomplices for the fulfillment of his dream. Now sits this romantic place, built over a cliff overlooking the Atlantic Ocean and gazing over the blue profile of famous mount Isabel de Torres, the Silver Mountain, as Christopher Columbus named it on his first voyage. And the dream now has a name: “La Puntilla de Piergiorgio”, Italian and International a la cart restaurant.
A place for close and intimate encounters surrounded by the ever-real atmosphere of the lush tropical bonanza day and night, where respect, culture and friendliness are always present.
Open for lunch and dinner, this gastronomic restaurant is authentically Italian, with many of the quality products imported from Italy. You might start with a classic beef carpaccio, move on to a homemade pasta, a fresh local fish with a Mediterranean preparation or grilled lobster. The wine steward will help you choose from the extensive, international wine list, a Chianti Reserva, perhaps? The perfect ending might be a frizzantino wine with Cantuccini biscuits.
P.S. Ask for the primo table under the gazebo and you will feel like a pair from The Great Gatsby
All of our 54 spacious rooms with queen or king size beds are either with view over the sea or the tropical vegetation. The rooms are equipped with flowered Chinz-curtains and fitting bed covers, rattan furniture, tiled floor, auto cooling, TV, safe, telephone (in the bathroom, too) and hairdryer.

Actually Sosua is divided into two separate villages which are separated by a bay at whose base is a sandy white beach more than half a mile long behind which are located a continuous row of small bars, restaurants and souvenir shops.
In addition to sunbathing, it is the scene of a variety of water sports such as sailing, water-skiing, jet-skiing, and just offshore a short distance there are banks of coral that are excellent for scuba diving.
Not far away to the east is another beach where the conditions are great for surfing (with just a board, without sail). Other beaches close by include Puerto Chiquito, Playa Chiquito and Playita.
To the east of the main beach lies Los Charamicós, formerly a sleepy fishing village but which has in recent years been converted into a business and residential sector for the concentration of Dominicans who have moved into the area to seek work in activities associated with the tourist industry. Most of the buildings in the center are old and are typical of most Dominican villages, with crowded rambling streets and noisy moto-conchos running up and down the streets.
Practically all of the restaurants serve local dishes, and the ambiance is typically Dominican. In a few places excellent fish dishes are served.
It was founded in 1940 when the dictator Trujilo, seeking goodwill from the international community after having ordered the massacre of almost 20,000 Haitians in the country, offered to take in Jewish refugees from Germany who were being persecuted by the Nazis. About 600 of them immigrated, of whom only a small group eventually remained and became engaged in the dairy and smoked-meat industries.
